Climate-Resilient Gardening (Live Virtual Class)

  • Location – Live Virtual Class using Zoom (map)

Climate change is already impacting our gardens, and there are a suite of adaptation practices that can help adapt our gardens to the new normal. Many of these practices also fight climate change by reducing emissions and sequestering carbon.

In this class, we'll discuss:

  • strategies for supporting healthy, adaptable garden ecosystems

  • how we can reduce emissions and sequester carbon while growing food

  • projections for changes in the climate of the Northwest

This live, 3-hour online class will include a small-group exercise to practice selecting strategies for different sites. We will be using Zoom for this class, which you can use on your computer or phone.

*This workshop is part of a Permaculture Speaker Series hosted by the Beacon Food Forest and Tilth Alliance. The goal of this series is to focus on climate solutions that are creative and relevant in our urban communities. Learn more about the exciting lineup of speakers and the topics they'll be sharing here.
