Doing What We Can

A few words on support…

Support comes in many different forms– meaning it won’t always look like donating money or putting your hands in the dirt. While these are indeed great ways to help, we want to emphasize that the best form of support is doing what you can. Doing what you can look like:

  • donating snacks or water to the volunteers or the volunteer snack and water supply

  • passing on your pavers, old plant pots, tools, or other things that we could make use of in the space

  • getting fly in some BFF merch!

  • sharing our or Instagram posts

  • adding us as your designated non-profit donation through the Fred-Meyer Community Rewards system

  • coming to a class to support our community educators

  • telling your friends and family about us!

  • picking up trash or plucking one lone weed on your walk through the forest

  • and so much more!

The practice of doing what you can keeps us all afloat in a grassroots organization. It’s easy to feel like you have to support or take action in a restrictive set of ways, but the beauty of this world we live in is that we all bring something new to the table. Doing what you can reduces burnout and incites the building of community, rather than the development of a scarcity-based mindset.
