Go beyond organic gardening by learning the basics of permaculture to create a more holistic and sustainable garden. Learn how to use "systems thinking" to create efficient and abundant gardens that integrate human needs with the natural ecosystem.
The goal of permaculture, short for "permanent agriculture" or "permanent culture," is to minimize inputs and maximize relationships between plants, animals, environment and people.
In this class you will:
Learn about permaculture ethics and principles
See examples of techniques that can be applied in an urban environment
Explore ways to integrate natural patterns and ecology into living systems
Practice designing a more holistic and self-sustaining space
This interactive live, 3-hour online class will be lecture-based with small group activities, a virtual tour and opportunities for questions and discussion. A detailed outline with recommended resources will also be provided. We will be using Zoom for this class, which you can use on your computer or phone.
