Food Forest Stewardship, Fall 2016

  • Beacon Food Forest S Dakota St Seattle, WA, 98108 United States (map)

If you dream of gaining the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience for growing food forests, this is the class for you. Taught by locally active permaculture educators and practitioners, we will help you understand the interconnected systems that make food forests healthy and productive, as well give you time to spend with other like-minded people. There will be three class sessions to introduce you to forest gardening highlights and methods. We will be indoors at Jefferson Community Center and outdoors at the Beacon Food Forest. Then, you'll participate as a leader in three community work parties and/or projects at the Beacon Food Forest. We're following a Chinese Proverb's wise words: "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I will learn." … This educational experience is provided by the Beacon Food Forest with a grant from King Conservation District. The dates for the series are: Sunday, September 18th from 10am to 3pm Sunday, October 16th from 10am to 3pm Saturday, November 12th from 10am to 3pm
