Join us Thursday evenings to help maintain this community space and grow food for open harvest.
Here's how it works
Show up at the Beacon Food Forest any time during drop-in hours. No RSVP is necessary. Yes, the graphic says 6:30, but we will be around as long as the waning sunlight is!
Find a lead volunteer wearing an orange bandana or mask. They will help you find a task to work on (independently or with others at a safe distance) and set you free to do it.
Borrow tools from the tool shed and get to work.
Stay for as much or as little time as you like. Remember to rest and enjoy yourself along the way! Enjoy the sunset over Seattle, and see why we like to call this evening time "Sunset Lab."
What to bring
Water bottle
Gardening gloves—We have clean gloves available, if needed.
Mask or cloth face covering
Weather-appropriate layers
Safety
Please wear a mask.
If you have known exposure to COVID-19, feel sick, or exhibit symptoms, please stay home. There will be opportunities to help later!
Accessibility
The Gathering Plaza, some of the gravel paths, and the Phase 2 expansion plaza are wheelchair-accessible.
The nearest restroom is about a 5-minute walk away, up a flight of steps. There is also a longer, wheelchair-accessible route. The restrooms are wheelchair-accessible and gender-segregated.
We look forward to seeing you at BFF on Thursday evenings while the light lasts.
Please let us know if you have any questions!
