Design Tips for DIYers

  • Online Event Using Zoom (map)

Foster your own food forest right outside your front door!

This class will give you a framework to help you design your home garden, whether you have a townhouse with a postage stamp of yard space, or several acres to work with.

Learn about design principles, handy rules of thumb, do’s and don’ts, and specific placement techniques. We’ll look at design from the perspective of aesthetics, ecology, and urban agriculture -the core foundations of permaculture.

This will be a virtual class using Zoom - and will feature a lecture, a live practicum, as well as time for questions and answers with the instructor. Zoom can be accessed via your computer or phone.

About the instructor: Will Rak is a long-time BFF volunteer and board member. He holds degrees in Landscape Design, Ecological Restoration, and Urban Agriculture, and works as a landscape designer for Grounded as well as permaculture designer for NW Bloom (with author Jessi Bloom). His favorite food to grow is peppers — the sweet and especially the spicy.

Tickets are $35 with some sliding scale available
